Escamequita village: local life a short walk from your lot

Las Planadas is not isolated: Escamequita village is a short walk from the lots. It is a real Nicaraguan village, with its school and its health centre, where local families and newcomers from abroad live side by side.
Everyday life, on foot
For daily needs, you can leave the car at home:
- A school
- A health centre (centro de salud)
- A café
- Restaurants

Evenings and weekends
The village has a bar, a karaoke night and a pizza night: the easiest way to meet the neighbours. On the football field and the baseball field, the weekend games are part of village life.

Horses, pickleball and the beach
The equestrian centre in the village offers horse rides down to the beach; at sunset, it is one of the most beautiful rides on this coast. Pickleball has its fans too, right in the village. And for surf, Playa Yankee is 3 minutes away by car.

Bread from the wood oven
Some traditions stay: in village kitchens, bread is still baked in wood-fired clay ovens, with recipes handed down over generations.
San Juan del Sur for the rest
Banks, larger shops, restaurants and the bay are in San Juan del Sur, 15 minutes by car.
